  I had the most unprofessional medical experience of my life at this urgent care location. I had backed into a cactus about a week earlier, and suspected I had some very small spines stuck in my back at the site of a very localized rash (about 1.5 square inches) with some raised bumps. I wanted to see if a doctor could remove any spines that were stuck in my back to avoid infection. After a modest wait, the doctor saw me in one of the exam rooms. I immediately noticed an extremely strong stench of cigarettes on the doctor. I told him how I had backed into a cactus and thought I might have some spines stuck in my back, and he took one look and told me I had shingles. He hadn't even looked closely at the bumps on my back at this point. I questioned the diagnosis and asked if he could take a closer look, at which point he tried to turn on the overhead exam light. The light didn't work. He couldn't turn it on at all, and when I looked up at it, it was covered in dust and what looked like a thin coating of grease. It looked very unsanitary for an exam room, and he never did get the light to work. Without the aid of the exam light, he looked closely at the bumps on my back, and used a biopsy needle to actually take out a cactus spine. He showed it to me, but still held to his initial diagnosis of shingles. I couldn't believe it. He actually *removed* a spine, and then still insisted the bumps were caused by shingles. He made no mention of doing a confirmatory blood test, which I only found out was possible after talking to my general practitioner, and I also found out that apart from the bumps on my back, I had none of the other symptoms of shingles, most notable the extreme pain that typically accompanies the disease. The doctor prescribed me an antiviral, and then proceeded to bill me about $150 for a misdiagnosis, a dirty exam light that didn't work, and his stench of cigarette smoke that was so foul it actually made my stomach upset. I have been telling everyone I know to stay away from this place. Truly sub-par medical attention, and I honestly question the veracity of the medical degree of the doctor I saw. Absolutely not worth your time or money.
